Land in Andalucía: Sin Miedo
Calling all Erasmus, Study Abroad, Interns, Exchange Students, Au-Pairs & Language Assistants (Auxiliares) heading to the South of Spain...
Your experience abroad starts here. Not when you land.
You got the email. You screamed. You maybe cried a little (happy crying, obviously).
You were on top of the world, but then, 48 hours later, a quieter voice showed up.
What if my Spanish isn’t good enough for real life? What if I get there and I don’t fit in? What if I end up in a bubble of English speakers and waste my entire time abroad? What if I’m lonely?
That voice is normal. It means you actually care about making this experience everything it should be.
And that voice is exactly why this programme exists.
Here's the thing nobody tells you
Here’s what nobody tells you before starting your experience in Andalucía: the gap between classroom Spanish and real life in Andalucía is bigger than you think. Not because your Spanish is bad, but because Andalucía doesn’t just speak university Spanish.
Andalusians drop letters, merge words and speak at 200mph. It will make you wonder if you ever learned Spanish at all. Students who have studied for three, four, five years arrive and struggle to understand what people are saying to them in the first weeks (spoiler: I’ve been there…)
Most people figure this out the hard way. Many spend their whole time saying they’ll “put themselves out there next week”, never quite breaking through.
This programme exists so that doesn’t happen to you.
This isn’t just a Spanish programme – it’s your ultimate support system. A place to prepare before you leave, navigate the reality once you arrive and connect with other students and young people who are figuring it all out alongside you. Think of it as having an “Andalusian big sister” in your corner and a community to navigate your experience abroad with from day one.

From: “I hope I don’t feel lost when I arrive” To: “I know what to expect. I actually feel confident and socially plugged in from day one”
From: “I don’t want to mess up Spanish or look stupid” To: “I can handle real conversations and continue calmly when I don’t understand”
From: “I’m on my own” To: “I already have people before I even land, and when I’m there I have someone to turn to for support and advice when I need it”
This programme is for you if:
🍋 You’re a young person heading to Andalucía for study, work or exchange
🍋 You want to integrate: make real local friends, understand the culture from the inside, feel genuinely at home
🍋 You have a solid base in Spanish but you’re nervous about the gap between classroom Spanish and real spoken Andalusian Spanish
🍋 You want a support system, a community and a friendly face before you even leave
🍋 You want someone in your corner who has lived exactly this experience
🍋 You’re ready to get involved, try new things and make the most of your adventure
This programme is NOT for you if:
✗ You’re a complete beginner or can’t yet hold a basic conversation in Spanish
✗ You’re not coming to the south of Spain for study, work or exchange
✗ You’re not particularly interested in integrating or you’re happy to socialise mostly in English
✗ You’re looking for a traditional Spanish grammar course or classes
✗ You’re looking for passive learning or a quick fix
✗ You’re not open to being coached, challenged or stepping outside your comfort zone
You only get ONE experience like this
This is about changing how you experience and use the Spanish you already have through coaching, real interaction and cultural immersion rooted in life in Andalucía.
You’ll probably never have this exact mix of freedom, excitement, possibility and opportunity again.
You deserve to experience it fully. Not from the sidelines, not wishing you’d been braver, not waiting until your final month to finally put yourself out there.
From the very beginning.
So… what’s the next step?
If you’ve read this far, something in you already knows this matters.
The students who make the most of their time abroad aren’t the ones with the best grammar. They’re the ones who integrate themselves (socially, culturally and linguistically) from day one.
If you’re ready to make the most of your experience abroad in Andalucía…
In this 20 minute session, we’ll...
🍊 Talk about where you are with your Spanish and what’s worrying you most
🍊 Map out what a confident and integrated experience abroad actually looks like for you
🍊 See honestly whether this programme is the right fit
This isn’t a vague chat. It’s a focused, honest conversation designed to give you clarity and a plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a Spanish course?
Not in the traditional sense. This isn’t a grammar-heavy course or a series of textbook-style classes. The programme is designed to help you bridge the gap between the Spanish you’ve already learned and real life in Andalucía through practical preparation, coaching, community and cultural immersion. You’ll build confidence with authentic Andalusian Spanish while learning how to navigate the realities of experiences abroad.
What makes this different from other Spanish programmes?
Most programmes focus on logistics or generic Spanish lessons. This programme combines authentic Andalusian Spanish, cultural preparation, small-group coaching and an ongoing community designed specifically for young people coming to southern Spain. It’s about helping you make the most of your experience abroad – not just survive it.
What level of Spanish do I need?
You’ll need a conversational foundation in Spanish to get the most out of the programme. You don’t need perfect grammar or native-level fluency, but you should be able to hold a basic conversation and participate in group discussions and activities. If you’re unsure whether your level is suitable, book a Sin Miedo Game Plan Session and we can chat it through together.
How long is the programme and how much time will I need each week?
The programme last 6 weeks and is intentionally designed to fit around real life. The bite-sized lessons can be completed at your own pace, and you’ll attend one live small-group session each week. This isn’t designed to feel like “more university work” – it’s practical, flexible and created to support your adventure, not take over it.
Will I become fluent in six weeks?
No, and I would never promise that because it’s not possible. Fluency isn’t built overnight. What this programme can do is help you feel significantly more prepared, confident and connected as you begin or continue your adventure, giving you practical tools and support that allow you to participate more fully in life here from the very beginning.
Who is this programme open for? Is it just Erasmus students?
Nope! It is open to any young person heading to Andalucía for study, work or cultural exchange.
This programme is designed for the entire global youth community landing in the South. Whether you are an Erasmus or year abroad student, a British Turing scholar, an American study abroad student, a language assistant (auxiliar), an au pair, an intern, or a solo traveler… if you are a young person going to spend time in Andalucía and want to blend in like a local and make connections, you belong here.
Can I join before I go to Spain?
Absolutely! In fact, many young people join before they leave so they can arrive feeling more prepared and confident. The programme will help you understand what to expect linguistically, culturally and socially, so you’re not caught off guard during those first few weeks.
Will this help me make friends and meet people?
Yes! That’s a huge part of why this programme exists. Alongside language and cultural support, you’ll join an online community of other young people who are studying, working or on an exchange, where you can ask questions, share experiences, organise plans, swap recommendations and support each other throughout your time in Andalucía. Many find that this sense of community becomes one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
What if I've already arrived in Andalucía?
Many young people realise they need support once they’ve actually arrived and experienced the reality of fast-paced Andalusian Spanish whilst settling into a new environment. Whether you’re preparing to leave or already here, the programme is designed to meet you where you are.
What if I don't know anyone else joining?
Most participants won’t! In fact, that’s often one of the reasons they join. The community is designed to help you connect with other young people, whether that’s through asking questions, sharing recommendations, finding friends to explore with or simply having people who understand exactly what you’re experiencing. Many participants arrive knowing at least a few familiar names and faces, which can make those first weeks feel much less overwhelming.
Is this programme only for young people coming to Andalucía specifically?
Yes. Everything inside the programme is tailored specifically to life in Andalucía, the south of Spain – from the accent and local expressions, to cultural nuances and everyday situations you’ll actually encounter here.
What age do I have to be to participate?
The program is for young adults between the ages of 18 and 25. This keeps our private community and weekly coaching groups perfectly aligned in the exact same life stage – sharing the same uni timelines, budget-friendly weekend travel plans, flatmate hunting chaos and social goals!
Is this only for people going to Sevilla, Granada or Cádiz?
Not at all! The programme is open to young people heading anywhere in Andalucía.
Whether you’re on Erasmus in Málaga, au-pairing in Córdoba, working as a language assistant (auxiliar) in Jaén, doing an internship in Almería, studying abroad in Huelva, spending a year abroad in Sevilla, on the Turing scheme in Granada, or doing a work placement in Cádiz… you’ll still experience the exact same accent features, cultural nuances and adjustment challenges.
Wherever your experience takes you in Andalucía, the goal is exactly the same: helping you feel confident, connected, and prepared to make the most of it from day one.
I've just finished uni exams. What if I don't feel motivated enough?
I completely understand. The last thing I wanted to create was something that felt like “more studying” after months of lectures, assignments and exams. That’s why this programme is designed differently. The lessons are short, practical and flexible, so they fit around your life rather than taking it over. The focus is on preparing you for the experience you’re about to have (or helping you make the most of the one you’re already in), through real-life Spanish, community and support. Think less “another university course” and more “having a big sister in your corner as you navigate Andalucía.”
I've just graduated uni and I want to move to the south of Spain, will this help me?
Absolutely! Graduation is a massive milestone, and moving to Andalucía right after uni is an incredible adventure but it can feel daunting without a built-in university safety net. This programme will give you the linguistic confidence to navigate real life (from flat-hunting to ordering your morning coffee) and instantly hooks you up with a ready-made community of young people who are navigating similar transitions.
Do I need to be a native English speaker to join?
You don’t need to be a native English speaker, but you do need to speak and understand English to join this programme.
This is a truly international community with young people from all over the world. To make sure everyone can connect, our coaching sessions, materials and community chats are delivered in a mix of English and Spanish.
As long as you are confident holding a conversation and learning in English, you are very welcome here! Having a diverse mix of global backgrounds makes our community so much better.
No necesitas perfección, necesitas soltura.
